Nestled in the stunning Swiss Alps, the Vision Art Festival seamlessly blends urban art with the natural splendor of its surroundings. This annual event, now celebrating its 10th edition from July 1st to 14th, gathers urban artists from across the globe to create murals and installations against the backdrop of breathtaking mountain vistas.
This summer, join me in experiencing a truly unique street art festival that transforms the serene Alpine landscape into an inspiring showcase of urban creativity and cultural exchange!
Founded in 2015 by Gregory Pages, the Vision Art Festival has rapidly ascended to prominence within Switzerland’s street art scene, distinguishing itself on the global stage for its seamless integration of urban creativity with the awe-inspiring backdrop of the Swiss Alps. This annual celebration of street art has garnered acclaim for its ability to meld artistic expression with the natural beauty of the Swiss resort Crans-Montana.
Today, the festival is curated by two influential figures in the urban art realm: Gregory Pages, the visionary behind its inception, and Yasha Young, renowned for her founding role at Berlin’s esteemed Urban Nation Museum. Together, Pages and Young bring a wealth of experience and a keen eye for groundbreaking urban artistry to the festival’s curation.
The festival’s ethos is encapsulated in its motto, “Taking Urban Art to New Heights,” a testament to its mission to elevate street art beyond conventional boundaries. This transformative vision has turned Crans-Montana into a dynamic cultural destination, enriching its landscape with over 70 large-scale murals and art installations. These artworks, inspired by the panoramic views of the mountainous plateau overlooking the Rhone Valley and the Valais Alps, have redefined Crans-Montana from a traditional winter sports hub into a vibrant canvas of contemporary urban expression.
As a result, the Vision Art Festival not only attracts artists and art enthusiasts from around the world but also enhances Crans-Montana’s allure as a year-round destination for cultural exploration and artistic discovery.
